Under the direction of Sean Ambrose, the Cheyenne Chamber Singers, with soprano soloist and orchestra, end the season with the Francis Poulenc magnificent “Gloria.” This work, composed in the late fifties and performed for the first time in 1961, is one of the twentieth century’s finest sacred choral works. Poulenc’s sense of humor and love of life shine in this sometimes solemn, sometimes playful or yearning, sometimes animated or calm, but always beautiful work.
